ホテル予約

中国の国際会議事務局からホテルの予約の件でメール。

If you have made a hotel reservation but have not received a confirmation, .... you may assume that your previous reservation was not successful and you are encouraged to make another reservation.

だとか。私の予約は未だにconfirmationがないため、ホテルを予約し直したほうがよさそうだ。ちなみにこんなことになったのは

If you are from outside of China, you may wish to make reservation with ... Hotel, since the other two hotels are reluctant in faxing confirmations overseas.

と、事務局指定３ホテルの内２つが予約の確認FAXを海外に送るのをいやがっているのが原因らしい。
支払いにしろ（学会参加費はカード不可で銀行振り込みのみ）、ホテル予約にしろ、まだまだ海外の観光客にとって中国は敷居が高そうだ。
